How is a logo created on Wilogo? From initial brief to final proposals, take a behind-the-scenes look at our AI-assisted creative process. Total transparency about our method.

From brief to logo: behind the scenes of a Wilogo creation

Why open our doors?

When creating an AI-powered logo generation service, the issue of transparency is not optional — it is essential. At Wilogo, we chose to lay our cards on the table from the start: our graphic designers are artificial intelligence agents, and we have never pretended otherwise.

But saying “it’s AI” is not enough. You deserve to understand how it works in practice, what the steps are, what happens between the moment you fill out your brief and the moment you receive your logo proposals. This is the purpose of this article: to take you behind the scenes, without filter.

We will also talk honestly about what AI does well, what it does less well, and why a human graphic designer remains irreplaceable for certain projects. Because transparency also means recognizing your limits.

Step 1: the brief, the foundation of everything

It all starts with the brief. This is the most important part of the process — whether with a human designer or with an AI. A good brief is a good logo. A vague brief is a vague result.

What we ask of you

On Wilogo, the brief can be completed in a few minutes via a structured form. We ask you:

  • The name of your company or project — it seems obvious, but it's the basis of everything
  • Your sector of activity — each field has its visual codes (a law firm does not look like a food truck)
  • Your slogan or baseline — if there is one, it will be integrated into the proposals
  • The desired atmosphere — modern, classic, playful, serious, refined, detailed…
  • Your color preferences — specific shades or general direction
  • Visual references — logos you love (or hate, it's just as useful)
  • Context of use — web only, printing, signage, vehicle, etc.

Why the brief is so important

An experienced graphic designer will also say this: the brief represents 50% of the final result. This is true in agencies as well as in freelance, and it is true on Wilogo. The difference is that with us the brief is structured to extract essential information in a systematic way - where a free exchange can sometimes go in circles.

To delve deeper into the question of the creative brief, our graphic charter guide explains how to formalize your visual identity from A to Z.

Step 2: creative interpretation by our AI agents

This is where the magic happens — and it’s also where we need to be most transparent. Your brief is sent to several AI agents specialized in graphic design. Each agent has a different style, their own sensitivity.

How our agents work

Our agents are not simple image generators. These are advanced AI systems which have been trained on the principles of graphic design: balance of compositions, harmony of colors, typographic readability, symbolism of shapes.

When they receive your brief, they don't just "glue shapes together". They analyze:

  • The visual codes of your sector — a bakery logo does not use the same elements as a tech startup logo
  • The psychology of colors — blue inspires confidence, green evokes nature, red energy (we talk about this in detail in our logo color guide)
  • Current trends — without blindly following fashion, a good logo must be timeless
  • Readability and versatility — a logo must work large on a sign as well as small on a favicon

Each agent, a style

On Wilogo, you do not receive proposals from just one agent. Several agents work on your brief in parallel, each with their own creative approach. It's a bit like launching an internal creative competition: some will opt for a minimalist style, others for something more illustrative, still others for a bold typographic play.

The result: a diversity of proposals that allows you to compare very different creative directions, which would be time-consuming and costly with a single human service provider.

Step 3: generating proposals

Once the brief has been analyzed, each agent generates their proposals. Here's what's actually happening.

The technical process

Each creative agent generates several concepts based on their interpretation of your brief. The proposals are then compiled, verified and presented in your customer area. The whole thing takes a few minutes — where a human graphic designer would need several days, or even weeks.

This is an undeniable advantage of AI: speed of exploration. In just a few minutes, you get an overview of possible directions for your logo. This is a considerable time saver, especially when you are in the middle of launching a business and every day counts.

What we check before showing it to you

Not all proposals are presented as is. Before submitting them to you, a consistency check is carried out:

  • Is the text correct? — the name of your company is verified letter by letter (this is a sensitive point of AI, we will return to it below)
  • Is the logo readable in small? — a logo that only works in full screen is not a good logo
  • Do the colors match the brief? — if you asked for blue, you should not receive pink
  • Is the design original? — we check that it does not reproduce a known existing logo

Step 4: selection and iterations

You receive your proposals. And now ? It’s time to choose — but also to refine.

Browse proposals

Each proposal is accompanied by a presentation: the concept behind the design, the choice of colors, the typography used. It's not "just a picture" — it's creative thinking explained.

Our advice: don't instinctively choose the first logo you like. Take the time to look at them all, to imagine them on your business card, your website, your brand. A logo that we like at first glance is not necessarily the most suitable for your use.

Request changes

Do you like a concept but not the color? You like the shape but the type bothers you? No problem — you can iterate. Describe what you want to change, and the agent takes over the concept by integrating your feedback.

This is a natural and normal process. Even the world's greatest designers don't deliver a perfect logo the first time. Design is about iteration.

Step 5: delivery of files

Once your logo is finalized, we deliver you a complete pack of ready-to-use files.

What you receive

  • High resolution PNG file — for web, social media, presentations
  • Transparent background — essential to integrate it on any support
  • Monochrome versions — black and white, for cases where color is not possible

To understand the importance of the different formats and know when to use each of them, consult our complete vector logo guide.

A word about the vector format

This is an important point to address in full transparency: AI-generated logos are, by nature, bitmap images (in pixels). For web and digital use, it is perfectly suited. For large format signage or professional printing, a vector file (SVG, AI, EPS) is preferable.

If you need a perfect vector file, there are two options: automatic vectorization (which works well for simple, clean logos) or hiring a professional designer for manual vectorization. We won't tell you that AI replaces everything — that would be dishonest.

Our commitment to transparency

At Wilogo, transparency is not a marketing slogan — it is a conviction. Here is what we clearly state:

  • Our graphic designers are AI agents. We do not present them as humans. They have names (John, Maya, Clara…) to make them identifiable, but we never hide their artificial nature.
  • AI has limits. They are openly acknowledged (see next section). We do not pretend that our logos are equal to those of an artistic director with 20 years of experience.
  • Our positioning is clear: we make logo creation accessible to those who have neither the budget nor the time to go through a traditional agency. It's a different segment, not "better" — different.
  • Free pricing. We chose to let users decide how much they want to pay. For what ? Because the value of a logo is subjective, and everyone deserves a visual identity, regardless of their budget.

What AI does well — and its limitations

It would be in bad faith to only talk about the positive points. Here is an honest assessment of what AI brings and what it cannot (yet) do.

The strengths of AI for logo creation

  • Speed — dozens of proposals in minutes, compared to days or weeks in agencies
  • Diversity of exploration — multiple styles and creative directions explored in parallel
  • Affordability — a professional logo at a price much lower than that of a human graphic designer
  • Availability — 24/7, no waiting time
  • Rapid iteration — changes are applied in real time

The limits that we recognize

  • Text in logos — AI can still make mistakes on letters. This is why we systematically check this point before delivery, but perfection is not always achieved
  • Strategic subtlety — an experienced art director understands positioning nuances that AI doesn't yet grasp. For a high-end branding project, a human remains superior
  • Emotion and storytelling — telling a story in a single image is an art that the best graphic designers have mastered and that AI has only just scratched the surface of
  • Native vector format — AI logos are generated in bitmap, not vector. For large format printing, a vectorization step is necessary
  • Human support — a graphic designer asks you questions, challenges your brief, guides you in your choices. AI executes, it does not advise in the same way

The place of the human graphic designer in all of this

We want to make it clear: Wilogo does not replace graphic designers. We address a different audience, with different needs and budgets.

An entrepreneur who is launching his food truck and who needs a professional logo quickly for 0 to 50 euros is our target. A luxury brand that wants a brand identity worked on over several months with a senior AD is not our target — and it would be dishonest to claim to offer the same level of service.

We sincerely believe that AI and human graphic designers are complementary:

  • AI can serve as a creative starting point — a designer can then refine and professionalize a generated concept
  • AI allows small budgets to have a visual identity worthy of the name, while waiting to be able to invest in human work
  • Graphic designers provide what AI cannot: listening, advice, strategy, emotion

To deepen this reflection, we wrote a detailed comparison Logo AI vs graphic designer which honestly weighs the pros and cons of each approach.

Sincere advice

If you have the budget and time, work with a human graphic designer. Go to Malt, ask around, explore the portfolios. The result will likely be better than an AI logo, and the process will be rewarding.

If your budget is tight or you need to move quickly, we're here. And we will do our best to ensure that the result meets your expectations.

Frequently asked questions

Are Wilogo graphic designers real people?

No. Our graphic designers are artificial intelligence agents specialized in graphic design. They have first names to make them identifiable (John, Maya, Clara, etc.), but we never hide that they are AI. Transparency on this point is essential for us.

How long does it take to receive your logo proposals?

A few minutes after validating your brief. This is one of the major advantages of AI over a traditional process, which typically takes several days to several weeks.

Can we modify a logo after receiving it?

Yes, you can request modifications (change of colors, typography, graphic elements) and the agent will take over the concept by integrating your feedback. Design is an iterative process, and it's okay to not be satisfied the first time.

Is a Wilogo logo suitable for professional printing?

The logos are delivered in high resolution PNG, which is suitable for the web and most common uses (business cards, flyers). For large format signage, vectorization may be necessary. Our vector logo guide explains the differences between formats.

Is Wilogo replacing professional graphic designers?

No, and that is not our ambition. Wilogo is aimed at projects on a tight budget that need a professional logo quickly. For complete branding with brand strategy, a graphic designer or an agency remains the best choice. We believe in complementarity, not replacement.
